The kids were screaming for more mud splashes on the car. They were not happy when the initial puddles did not generate enough mud art on the windscreens. The rain had softened the earth considerably in some parts. We have no idea what lies beneath some huge puddles like the one below. We only know how deep and soft the mud was when we drove over.

My first watermelon fields. Stopped here for about two hours while waiting for convoy 2. (some cars in that convoy were stuck in the mud. We might be too if we were in the second convoy)

Our princesses.

Kids found lots of squashed melons. They had a competition to see who can find the smallest.

It was hot. hot. hot. Princesses resting, feasting on chilled grapes. (The foldable chairs are a must for such trips. Anticipated waits.)

Deceptively easy looking. We took 4 tries before we reached the top. Quite heart pounding when we just cant' seem to cross a threshold no matter how we revved the engine and yet can't manouver to the sides in case we rolled off and tumbled down! The path was not too broad and we had to be careful that we didn't roll off the sides while trying to climb the steep slope. When we first saw the trail, hb and I thought to ourselves "you must be kidding". But we made it and were immensely proud.

Where is the trail?

Open field. Blue sky.

Another of those "GOT ROAD HERE MEH" trails. Bashed through and the car was very badly whipped and scratched. We went through this again in the darkness of the night many hours later.

One of my favourite view. Open fields of lalang kissing the sides of our car.

Secluded beach.

And, we did not kill this fish. It was already baked when we saw it.

We were thrilled that we found a well. I have to teach hb how to scoop water from a well.

Barbequed dinner by the beach

The night trail was supposed to be relatively easy but due to unforseen circumstances, we had to reroute, which made it very challenging as we had to go over a deep wide ditch. The guys had to find big rocks to make it more mission possible. Had to carefully drive over the ditch and make sure we didn't miss the artificial platform because if we did, might have to spend the night there while waiting to be towed.

Pitch black.

Articifial illumination. I can't even see what was in front of me when I got off the car without a torch.

Day 2. Before we checked out. Kids had to go for a dip.
We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Immensely proud of Boyband car. He took a really bad beating this round. One of the more challenging off-road for him,
