As a girl, I did not play 5-stones. In fact, I detested it and of course, I did not play it well. I was in my element running around, playing catch, police and thief, hopscotch, zero-point and one-leg. Tom-boy.
Today, I had to play it as part of a team. And we each had to complete one cycle of the game. STRESS. But I am immensely proud that I successfully completed the game. It was not easy but I had great tutors. So, I can brag to my daughter that I know how to play 5-stones.
I wonder what games do primary school children play now? I know 'running around' reminds a perennial favourite. Will my girl remark that I am 'old school' with my reminiscence of the good old games that do not need battery to operate? Will she think that my childhood is BORING and SAD without all the electronic gaming devices? Though I think that her childhood lacks the colour of nature and life.
